Can we get on a 1968 Pan Am flight to Rome?

The 1968 movie Bullitt is often cited for its iconic references to stylish man stuff: the Mustang chase scenes, McQueen rocking a turtleneck, etc. The best scenes in the film, however, are probably those at San Francisco Airport. At one point, a well-dressed and polite set of passengers prepares to board a night Pan Am flight to Rome. It's hard not to be sad at realizing that in the years since then, we've lost everything that made that moment great: well-dressed, well-behaved airline passengers, Pan Am, and of course Steve McQueen.
