Diesel Sports Cars | Wait

We never get any of the cool stuff in North America. Think about how great modern diesel engines are—fuel-efficient, loaded with low-end torque, and nowadays they all run pretty clean with their high-tech particle filters. The combination of power, economy, and general machismo makes them great powerplants for sports cars, which you already know if you live someplace like Europe, where you can buy the 210 horsepower turbo-diesel Alfa Romeo Brera (shown). Or a diesel Audi TT that puts out 250+ pound-feet of torque while getting 44 mpg. Here in the USA and Canada, meanwhile, we WAIT. Will the VW Bluesport Roadster be our first taste? It's a start.
