Unrefinery

IKEA 2012 | Buy

IKEA's Stockholm line has been with us for a few years now, but this month it's prominently featured in one of the best IKEA catalogues to date. It's not lost on us that "IKEA's best catalogue" is a dubious distinction along the lines of "Germany's funniest comedian" for good reason, but it strikes us that after years of the Swedish juggernaut producing both quality and disposable crap side by side, the emergence of strong identites for distinct product lines has made it a lot easier to make a safe choice. As always, the Stockholm collection impresses with nice materials and modern—yet undeniably Scandinavian—design. Shown: Leather sofa [$1,500] with 25-year limited warranty. Oak coffee table [$200]. Natural hide footstool [$280].
