Iran might be sort of a messed-up place right now, but they're ahead of us in one regard: this is a country where you can run for president without wearing a necktie. In fact, you have to—apparently the ol' silk choke-chain is considered a decadent symbol of western culture. (See somewhat dated BBC article on the subject.)
