British retailer ASOS describes floral as a "stealth trend", which is kind of a funny choice of words, since they won't be sneaking up on anyone while decked out in their pink posies. Colourful floral patterns have always worked well for things like pocket squares, and there's nothing inherently wrong with floral shirts, but when scaling up to something that large, less is more. ASOS recommends the somewhat Grandmother's Curtains look of the Paul & Joe and Peter Werth shirts shown here (left and middle), but we'd suggest instead something tonal like this ModernTailor fabric (right). Another advantage over the other options shown here: since MT is made-to-measure, you can get a real collar while you're at it.
