We previously mentioned desert boots, which are versatile, under $100 and literally never go out of style. American Eagle also has some nice-looking suede bucks (shown) for a mere $60. We like the heavy rubber sole on those. And there's nothing wrong with sneakers per se; just avoid logoed/striped crap for runners and stick to simple canvas shoes.
