Observations on the wearing of pale blue trousers

Pale blue is a great colour for shirts (of course), sweaters and coats, so it's kind of surprising how rarely you find nicer pants in this shade. In looking around the Internet for inspiration on how to work light blues into ones trouser game a couple of things become apparent:
  1. Apparently these things are worn exclusively with textured or patterned tan sport coats.
  2. This really works with a very pure sky blue (left two examples). It doesn't work if they look even remotely like faded denim (right).
The takeaway? Look, we write three of these things per week. They're not all gonna be pearls of wisdom, for chrissakes.
