Packing P0rn

There's something kind of cool about the process of packing for a weekend. You've got the whole luggage-fetish thing, the careful editing of items that will be the most suitable and versatile under the circumstances, and the Tetris-like satisfaction of fitting it all together. Staged "packing" photos assembled to promote GQ Magazine's advertisers (left) are of course great eye candy, careful collages of colour and texture assembled by professional stylists, but naturally fail on the practicality front. (Where the f**k is this guy going with one paddle and a military webbing belt? Can we make sure to not accidentally wind up in the same place?) Fortunately there are websites full of real-world submissions, like iampacked.com (right), where you might pick up a few ideas (Muji makes some nice travel stuff) and vindicate your stereotypes (women really do suck at this). In a similar vein see also Hypebeast's frequently stilted but satisfyingly arrayed Essentials.
