J.Crew's catalogs and lookbooks are infamous for their elaborately shitted-up product styling, which started out as simply a fundamental failure to grasp the concept of sprezzatura and turned into a sort of contest to see how many wrinkled, distressed, crammed-in and yanked-out corners of crumpled shirting, battered chinos and sandpapery cashmere can fit into each shot. There's only one place left for this to go next year, and we're going there.
