The Spirit of Competition | Buy

After wondering how photographer Michael Furman & co. were going to follow up last year's weighty volume, we now have our answer, in the form of the nearly 6-pound, 320-page The Spirit of Competition. Naturally, the book is a feast for the eyes—there are literally hundreds of beautiful photos, covering racers from a wide historic range along with advertisements, repair records, and correspondence—but the historical anecdotes and driving impressions present each car as a living, dynamic piece of history rather than a museum relic. A car book not quite like any other.
