Unpimped Zee MPG? | Wait

For months we've anxiously awaited Volkswagen's new clean diesel Jetta TDI, which promised fuel efficiency comparable to similarly-sized hybrids. Now granted, one thing we've learned over the last few years is that the EPA is not to be trusted, but their rating of 30/41 city/highway for this new Jetta is pretty far short of the Civic Hybrid's 40/45, and not really close to the champion Prius. Yes, the Jetta will be faster and overall more fun to drive. But colour us disappointed.
