When good songs sell terrible clothes | Fail

Summer clothes are hitting the racks now, and we're hoping that the recession will force certain retailers to cut back on their TV ads this time around. Last year Dockers—who make clothes for the kind of people who have to get up three times a night to pee—co-opted Marlena Shaw's (shown) summer anthem "California Soul" to hawk their sorry collection of pleated high-waisted trousers and polos cut for man-boobs. We really aren't looking forward to what they have planned this time.
