A new Target commercial shows a balloon full of garish action figures terrorizing a city by saturating its citizens with retina-burning hues. This is an interesting idea until you notice that almost everyone they touch looked better before the transformation. A discount retailer can be forgiven for fumbling the execution of something like this, because there is frankly no aesthetic merit to neon colours, but Acne's execution in barftastic pastels is even worse (with the notable exception of a just-barely-acceptable olive).

If this is a trend, feel free to skip it.
