Everyday Dress Boots

Nothing against the exquisite ankle-high offerings of Alden, Bruno Magli et al, but the weather conditions that require the wearing of boots seem essentially similar to the circumstances under which one would want to leave their $600+ leather-soled footwear safe and dry in the closet. For everyday wear in the rainy and slushy months a more practical approach would be some grippy rubber soles and the kind of less-than-precious leather that you don't mind spraying the s**t out of with protector. Two classic brown wingtip designs shown left to right: Johnston & Murphy Hattington [$195]. Florsheim Gaffney [$140].
