All webbed belts are not created equal. While there's a place for D-rings and braiding (and we call that place "summer music festivals"), we think you'll get the most mileage out of a military styled belt. The clean, simple design of that metal buckle, absent any leather reinforcement or elaborate stitching, results in a sort of casual take on the placket belt that's still relaxed but also works with your lightweight blazer in the warm months. That said, we can't quite believe the prices some retailers are charging for a strip of cotton and a few ounces of bent metal. $38 shipped from Lands' End or J.Crew? F**k THAT. We bought the perfectly nice belt above from some guy on Ebay for $7 shipped. Check your local army surplus store as well.
