The latest Room & Board catalogue just showed up, and while this remains our favourite place to buy furniture, they've got a lot of sack charging premium prices for knock-offs of iconic mid-century modern pieces. Just because the laughably-named Design Within Reach wants $3,700 for an official Cassina Le Corbusier chaise doesn't mean we're keen to fork over $1,400 for an unlicensed copy—not when there are eBay sellers with 100% positive feedback getting the job done for $550-$800. Our advice: there's no advantage in shelling out for the real thing, so if you're going to go with a knock-off, pay a knocked-off price.
