Old dudes surf in Brooks Brothers sweaters

OK, maybe not, but the point on the versatility of this piece is fundamentally sound—there are few items of clothing more universally wearable than a cotton crew-neck sweater. Unless you work for a religious cult, you probably can't wear a Snuggie™ to work (not even on casual Friday), but the next most comfortable thing would be some sort of knit that you can wear without layers. Polo sweaters and shallow V-necks would also be options here. A cable-knit pima crewneck like this is nice because the texture adds some subtle detail when worn with plain khakis. It doesn't get a whole lot easier than that, unless you work at a 90s-era dot-com and are shuffling around the office in a robe carrying a drink like Dean f**king Martin. In which case, carry on.
